MALEFICENT
The Film Collection dolls are something I really looked forward to working on although it can be scary how accurate the sculpts were to the actors because they were actual 3D scans of their faces! For this packaging I worked with our packaging engineer to create a box that had the Maleficent horns scored into the box. I love to layer my art with outer graphics, pop ups and the back liner to add dimension.
MaLEFICENT FOR Vertical
So for Disney Stores and Parks there is usually a separate guide we create to differentiate the vertical business and then a separate guide for licensing. For stores we create the final mechanicals for packaging and sometimes I’m given the initial look from licensing and told to change it up a bit. This one we were given the general architecture of the tradedress & I changed it up quite a bit. Stores ended up being much darker and moodier, I feel the richness & the iconic thorn bushes as a liner. The licensing version was white, bright and the pose was pretty static front shot. I was really happy that we went with the moody look for this one, it was so captivating to me.
